About the Office

The Audit Office of the Velocity Interoperability Network is the independent auditor of the Velocity Interoperability Network. It examines the accounts and administration of every department and network service, reports its findings to the Network Assembly and publishes them for the public.

The Office is headed by the Auditor General, who is appointed by the Assembly for a single term of seven years and may not be directed by any department in the conduct of an audit. Its 48 staff work in four audit directorates.

Milestones

  1. 6 September 2026

    Audit Office established

    Independent audit of the accounts and administration of the 26 departments and 44 network services of the Network, reporting to the Network Assembly.

  2. 6 September 2026

    audit.gov.vin launched

    The register of reports, the register of recommendations, the audit programme and the Auditing Standards of the Network published on the official website.

  3. 6 September 2026

    First reports, programme and standards published

    Six establishment reports making 24 recommendations, the audit programme for 2026 to 2027 and the six Auditing Standards of the Network published on the day of establishment.

  4. Forthcoming

    First fieldwork and the first accounts

    Fieldwork on the first programmed audits begins in October 2026. The Network's first consolidated accounts, for the period to 31 March 2027, will be certified by September 2027.

History of the Audit Office
