Press Release
Audit Office of the Velocity Interoperability Network Established
Office of the Spokesperson

The Audit Office of the Velocity Interoperability Network has been formally established. The Office is the independent auditor of the Network: it examines the accounts and administration of the 26 departments and 44 network services of the Velocity Interoperability Network, reports its findings to the Network Assembly and publishes them for the public.
The Office is headed by the Auditor General, who is appointed by the Network Assembly for a single term of seven years and may not be directed by any department in the conduct of an audit. At establishment the Office has 48 staff, organised in four audit directorates covering financial audit, compliance and governance, performance audit, and systems and data assurance. The Office's own accounts will be audited by an external auditor appointed by the Assembly.
With its establishment complete, the Office today launches its official website at audit.gov.vin. The site carries the register of published audit reports, the register of recommendations and the responses of audited bodies, the audit programme for the year ahead, the Auditing Standards of the Network and an account of how an audit is conducted. The publication of the Office's first six reports, its first audit programme and its auditing standards are the subject of separate announcements published today. General enquiries may be sent to contact@audit.gov.vin.
